Our
first guests Jerry Wahrmund & Sharon Linville (now Jerry and
Sharon Wahrmund) held their wedding
at nearby Carambola
and spent their honeymoon at 2DIVE4.
During their stay Jerry
and Sharon enjoyed
the pool and the spa. They visited the
rain forest nearby ruins
and sailed to beautiful
Buck Island. They also saw their share of fish
while diving.
"Newlyweds from all
over the world come to the Virgin Islands to marry and with reason.
It's easy, fun, and your honeymoon can be combined all in one
package. Many of the beaches offer the
perfect
wedding setting." ~Sharon Wahrmund
If someday you are a guest at 2DIVE4, and send the
postcards supplied
at the villa to your friends you can thank Sharon for her
creativity.

"My
wife and our three friends have just had an incredible 10 day stay
in St. Croix at 2Dive4.The villa was fantastic! Plenty of room for a
large group. All the amenities you can imagine. The property
manager, Phillip, was extremely helpful and attentive. He made us
feel at home the moment we arrived. If you are planning a stay in
St. Croix, look no further. This is the place to be. We will be
back!! Thanks Dave! "

Jim and his friends took some photos of the sun
setting & the sun
rising, as seen from the pool deck of 2DIVE4. Trust me, it is
worth the trip to see in person!

While
exploring St. Croix under water is my preference, exploring from a
car can be immense fun. Scenic
Rd. runs east to west over the mountains of St. Croix. Travelers
over this sometimes unimproved road are rewarded with many scenic
vistas. Sights to look for include sugar
mill ruins, the Light
house at Hams Bluff, secluded
beaches, vast
water panoramas, and views of the lowlands.
There will never be a better time for you to stay at 2DIVE4 and
explore the beautiful scenic vistas of St. Croix. Our low
introductory rates won't last forever. E-mail
me with the dates you would like to visit.

Our
recent guests from Canada report that they had a great time scuba
diving. They even saw a sea
horse during their dive at Frederiksted pier. The pier makes a
beautiful night dive or a calm day dive if things get a little rough
on the North shore. They also got a great shot of a trunk
fish and a turtle
in nearby Cane Bay

“St. Croix is a beautiful island. So easy
to unwind and relax. You can keep busy if you like with diving,
snorkeling and sight seeing. 2DIVE4 only makes it better! It is a
wonderful Villa for divers and non-divers alike. We had a fabulous
time and I would not hesitate to return.”

Well
we finally got rid of our cable service and got one of those
satellite dish kits. Pretty cool huh? Just kidding. I took Chris and
Mary out to the East end of the island to show them the sights. The
big dish is part of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI
project). They have dishes in remote locations all over the world to
listen for ET. If you watch X files I am sure you know what I am
talking about.
We are blessed with a fair amount of rainfall in
our location on the North shore. The East end is not as lucky. They
even have cactuses.
The Eastern tip of St. Croix is also the most easterly part of the
United States. This gave St. Croix bragging rights for being the
first part of the USA to experience the new millennium.
In preparation for the big celebration, they built Point
Udall. This is a pretty cool place to just go and look around.
Nearby are some really good
snorkeling spots and secluded beaches you can drive down to.
On our way home we stopped at the casino.
Carina Bay Casino
is the Virgin Islands' first attempt at legalized gambling. Visit
St. Croix this summer and check out the East end for yourself. There
are still plenty of open dates available.
Email me now and I will save a
spot in the sun for you.

During
our February visit, our good friends, the Bouchers, spent a week
with us. Chris got his
scuba certification through Cane
Bay Dive Shop, located just 1/2 mile from us. Reese
spent a lot of time with me playing at our
beach, and Mary learned to snorkel at a nearby
natural pool. In between dives Chris did what he is best at.

I
often dive solo in St. Croix but had never done a night dive alone
before. Nor had I done a night dive from the 2DIVE4 entrance. It was
just 2 days till time to go back home when I decided to make my
first night dive alone from my backyard. I have 6 special colored
spotlights in the back of the house to make it easy to spot 2DIVE4
when I surface. After turning on the lights, I entered the water at
dusk and proceeded to Lobster Ledges (see last week's update). After
lining up on the surface with the appropriate shore land marks, I
submerged. I then navigated by depth (20ft) and east / west covering
all the crevices, ledges, and critter hideouts I could find. The
time went quickly with much to see. There were several Morays out
foraging for food & lobsters on their way into the shallows for
a night of work. Also, 2 hawksbill turtles were tucked in for the
night under a ledge. 3 good sized black jacks followed me very
closely thru most of the dive and on my way home. I suspect they
hoped to have a shot at some food. I also encountered a great
barracuda who wondered what all the excitement in the area was
about. But, the highlight for me was two large red snappers who I
figured have a long term lease on the crevice I found them in.
I did not take my camera along on that dive so no photos. However, I
had one more night before I left and decided to call my friend Dave
Bentley to join me. He brought his spear gun and the photo tells the
rest. Make your Reservations now for
luxury living & convenient diving.
